Yuvism is a new form of polytheism, taking all that worked in the ancient times, and leveling up at the 21st century scale, it is the balance between tradition and modernity; in Yuvism there is no destruction or creation but only cycles, no dualism but only two sides of a same coin. This approach is revolutionary, creating a polytheism both occidental in its references and on its arcane system, but also oriental at its root, as Yuvism agrees and takes on some essential principles of oriental philosohphies such as Buddhism or Advaita Vedanta.
Yuvism is a belief system that is common to all humanity, representing every culture, every human being can relate with it, no matter its gender, age or background.
What makes Yuvism truly revolutionary is its main tour-de-force regarding its deities system: the integrality of deities humanity revered to for all its existence managed to be condensed in 24 deities with a multitude of epithets. This tour de force tends to proof that before the appearance of writing, the primal nomadic humanity ought to have a polytheistic belief system that were common to every tribe at a few differences because of the environment.
Yuvism is also technically astralo-evehemerist as it acknowledges the deities humans rever once been incarnated beings and entities that eventually survived long enough, gained enough power and energy to sustain and fulfill a role to those seeking for assistance.
In itself, Yuvism is a true polytheism (it can't be trimmed down to one or two beings only, bypassing the issues of manichaeism, dualism and monotheism all at the same time), it is easy to remember, there is no mind-numbing astrological hour system to rever to the deities (it always falls at the same hour every single day), and the "off-day" is the Thursday of every week.
The objective of Yuvist antennas are to build strong local consolidated groups, comparable to a modern and human wolf-pack.
What Yuvism isn't:
- It isn't a cult, we do expressively prohibit proselytism regarding Yuvism, if someone wants to practice our system and tradition, they do come to us on their own device and without ever using of any ruse, coercion or force on our side to get new members in. It also isn't a cult because we don't ask for money from anyone, and if we collect the money with the NGO of the movement, we do redistribute everything in meaningful projects for the community; we are all equals in front of the deities and there is no ranking system or hierarchy regarding the practice (however there is a uniform when group practice is involved so to maintain a better cohesion between people).
- Although we are polytheists and takes on the ancient approach to spirituality, we aren't endorsing animal sacrifice (nor any sacrifice or offering of any nature), in itself animal sacrifice was made in the ancient societies during celebrations and sabbats as to share with the entire community, they were first made to feed the practice group and the local community rather than an abstract being. The societies that were practicing human sacrifice were most often nomadics and they were doing such to self-regulate their population so to keep living in perfect balance with nature, the abrahamics made human sacrifice something innomable because they never understood that it was about will of nature and balance, a concept that is too complex for their one-sided deviant minds.
- Despite we might carry Athames (small blades used for the practice, as to trace circle or to use like just any pocket knife) we aren't criminals, we aren't doing so to expressly break the law, the carrying of a tradition knife like our athame is, should be and should remain a fundamental human right like the one of being able to carry clothes in the public space; contrary to some other religions that expressly use knives for attack by fanatism, we aren't radicalized (except maybe against idiocy and recklessness, two things that shouldn't be in a sane and fair society) and these blades are only used for our rituals, an athame isn't made to draw blood. Although a member is technically in the right of use its Athame to defend itself, it is only made for defense and not for attack, and only if immediate life-threat is involved. And so, the athame will always remain a cultural tool for our practice and no less than this unless fundamentalists infringe on our rights; and in this case, we do not believe in forgiveness nor pity or mercy.
- We aren't either a group of sexually liberated hedonistic people (or more so, while a lot of ancient rites were involving orgies, and while we don't actually have anything against them, and that Yuvism celebrates life; and that sex in itself is life, it is what makes it actually) in the sense that we are searching for serious people, men like women that genuinely wants to practice their spirituality and gather with like-minded people for an eventual group practice of their belief, and eventually further upon consent, mutual respect and an appropriate seeting. As a result, we won't accept members only being Yuvist just for the facultative orgy at the solstices and equinoxes, if you are looking for a place in which you can sexually express with multiple people, it is named a swinger/SM club, but in any case, that's not here and never will be. As much as we like to celebrate life, and as much as groups like ours is bound to from strong links between people, not only comradeship and friendship but also maybe love and commitment among certain members, we think that there are basic respect rules to follow, and we also think that everyone is free or not to indulge in such in the appropriate setting and if there's some chemistry at work or not, such parts of celebrations are generally their culmination, their climax, and we want to collaborate first with people that are genuinely committed to the egregore, to the energies and genuine social aspect of group ceremonies, before being committed to their wand or cup, if you catch the drift.
(NB: I should also say, speaking of carnal matters, that we are bound to have no judgment on the other member physical appearance, what matters is that they are part of our group and they are committed to it, their physical appearance is irrelevant in itself, as the body envelope is lent to us by the earth for the time of our existence and is temporary; though we have to acknowledge it is important to preserve this vessel as we only have one currently available on hand.)
- We aren't Wiccans, nor Satanists, nor Luciferians (although we consider Satan to be an epithet of Cernunnos and Lucifer to be an epithet of Hades), or any of those "edgy" marginalized groups that are most often freak-show cults with the main focus on preying on those that are spiritually lost, frustrated, nihilistic or apathetic; we don't believe in demons at all actually (or more so, for us what the profane call "demon" is for us just about any other spirit, and like every being in existence, it is interested by nature [so is the human, what is found above is also found down under etc...] and our practice isn't about convoking these forces primarily, it is even far from being the main focus, we have already a complete pantheon for that purpose and they respond quicker and more accurately.
- We aren't a nursery or a teenage-shelter: people under the age of 15 are prohibited to join the active social branch of Yuvism; however, and with their parent's approval and supervision, they can start reading our Codex Atala by the age of 13 and they can practice first in solitary to see and experience whether if Yuvism is made for them or not. Minors from age 9-15 could be authorized to witness a public ritual if the group agrees with it, and if said minor has a Yuvist supervisor with it.
